Mother Dedicated Her Graduation To Her Selfless Son

When we chose to focus on women with this blog, some thought it is because we chose to be feminist. No, that is wrong in every way.

We chose to dedicate ourselves to celebrating women, who has at one time or the other sacrificed so much in silence, those who felt so much pain yet smile through every step like it's no pain.

Jelina Sheppard is one of those great women we dedicate this blog to. Despite the stress and struggle she went through to get her certificate at school, she chose to dedicate the success to her loving son who equally sacrificed so much to see his mummy become a graduate.

Jelina posted this picture and her dedication speech to Facebook in which she wrote words that has attracted about 80,000 shares and hundreds of thousands of view since May 14 till now. Some people have gone ahead to tag the likes of Steve Harvey, Oprah and Ellen in the comment sections.

See her note after the cut.

Jelina:

    Dear Karter,

For all those nights you had to fall asleep in the library, for all those times you had to watch cartoons alone because I needed to do homework, for the early mornings in daycare because I needed to be in class to being the last one there because I had to work, most importantly for the moments of separation because I needed to get this done, Thank you. You are the motivation for my heart to keep beating. I love you more than words can say. I finished because you needed to see me do it. I'm not strong because I want to be, I'm strong because I'm your first example. We've seen a lot and overcame a lot more.

To infinity and beyond, a mother's greatest love. đź’•#iGraduated
